No exemption from toll on Mumbai-Pune E-way till 2030

ST CORRESPONDENT

Mumbai: There will be no exemption from toll on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway till 2030. The MSRDC will continue to collect toll on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway till April 2030.

It has decided to form a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) known as Mumbai-Pune Expressway Limited to collect the toll. The State government approved a contract between the MSRDC and the Mumbai-Pune Expressway Limited company for collection of toll.

The government has decided not to stop toll collection or exempt lightweight vehicles on the Expressway till the approved tenure of contractor Mhaiskar Infrastructure ends on August 10, 2019.

The government took a loan from private financial institutes for Mumbai-Pune Expressway project. To repay the loan the toll collection is a must from vehicles plying on it. Toll collection commenced in August 2004.
